                                 Now offering paraffin therapy!

Hello and thank you for visiting my website! I am an adjunct faculty member at the Cortiva Institute School of Massage Therapy in Scottsdale, Arizona, from which I also earned my massage therapy diploma. My massage training included a strong emphasis on myofascial and neuromuscular techniques, including trigger point therapy. While in massage school, I acquired hundreds of hands-on practice hours beyond that which was required to earn a massage therapy diploma. In addition, I completed continuing education courses in lymph drainage therapy (LDT1 developed by the Chikly Health Institute) and advanced deep tissue techniques. My professional memberships include the American Massage Therapy Association, Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals and the American Physical Therapy Association. In addition, I am nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork (NCTMB), the highest credential in the field.

In my private practice I am seeking clients who have specific pain reduction, functional, or performance goals. Every session is tailored to my client's specific needs. I am experienced with developing strategies to accomplish client goals using a combination of Swedish massage and deep tissue techniques and am constantly refining my approach during each session based on my findings and and how my client's body is responding. References are available, including from former instructors.

My emphasis is on quality and results, not quantity. I consider it a privilege to be able to help people to feel better and am passionate about addressing the causes of muscular pain, weakness, and dysfunction to ultimately improve movement for activities of daily living or athletic performance. To enhance my therapeutic skills I am pursuing the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from A. T. Still University in Mesa, AZ.

Please call to schedule an appointment for a massage. Openings are available primarily on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Experience the difference!

Client Feedback

I have been seeing Lucy for several months now and find her knowledge and technique far superior to what I'm used to as a regular massage customer. Her questioning before the massage work was more detailed to make sure she had a clear understanding of my needs. Her massage work was very focused on the problem areas and was very methodical. I really enjoy the explanations Lucy gives me about what she is doing, how it will help, and what feedback she would like later to see if it had the desired result. I have never met someone, in this field, so focused on me as a customer and determined to make a difference. I highly recommend Lucy as a massage therapist, especially if you're dealing with specific injuries or problem areas.

Art and Science with a Bit of Fun

Skeletal Muscle Fiber

The Deep Front Line, an example of what emerges when a knife is not used to dissect muscles out of the body. Shown is one continuous piece from the ankle to the tongue with the psoas complex in the middle (from Thomas Myers, author of Anatomy Trains).

What fun to watch these guys play one of the most awe-inspiring songs I've ever heard! Jon Schmidt can have a free massage from me any time he's in the area. It looks like he could benefit from work on his forearms, levator scapulae, suboccipitals and pecs...

I'm named after this Lucy because her show was my mother's favorite while she was growing up in Taiwan. This massage protocol is known as the John Wayne Special. :-)
